Fully skilled Fabricator / Welder

About 316 Engineering 

Due to continually increasing workloads, we are seeking a fully skilled Fabricator/Welder. 

 

The successful applicant will have experience in Fabricating Stainless Steel items such as tanks, frames, bespoke plant & machinery, pipework & tubing (range and variation of work as the current nature and volume of work dictates). Using up-to-the-minute equipment, including laser cutting, we produce complex fabrications. Our projects include Chutes, Hoppers, Conveyor bodies, Platforms & gantries, Access ladders, Process tanks, Sheet metal work and Pipework.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Capable of TIG & MIG welding stainless steel. 
     

  • Ideally will be time served Sheet metal worker / Fabricator welder with a minimum of 5 to 10 years’ experience. 
     

  • The ability to fabricate from engineering drawings, ability to work unsupervised, be experienced in operating a CNC Press brake and Powered sheet rolls.
     

  • The successful applicant will need to be flexible and be able to work overtime with little notice.
     

  • Will have previous experience of working in a busy manufacturing environment.

Skilled Metal Polisher

About 316 Engineering 

Due to continually increasing workloads, we are seeking a skilled Metal Polisher.  

 

The successful applicant will need to be able to work on own initiative and part of a team. Be flexible and be able to work overtime with little notice and will have previous experience of working in a busy manufacturing environment. All work undertaken is to be completed in a safe manner while also completed to the correct quality and within the required timescales.

Required Skills and Experience
  • The successful applicant will have experience in Stainless Steel polishing.
     

  • Capable of polishing and finishing bespoke items to a high standard and finish.
     

  • To have knowledge of the various stainless finishes and ideally will be able to Bead Blast - training will be given if necessary.
     

  • Knowledge in the use of manual and power tools is also desirable.

Project Engineer

About 316 Engineering 

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to work within our Projects Department at our modern fabrication facility in Peterborough.

 

We have built our reputation on a highly skilled workforce and we are renowned for producing innovative quality fabrications in stainless steel for industries such as Food, Pharmaceutical, Water Treatment, Process Engineering, Dairy and Architectural. Using up-to-the-minute equipment, including laser cutting, we produce complex fabrications. Our projects include Chutes, Hoppers, Conveyor bodies, Platforms & gantries, Access ladders, Process tanks, Sheet metal work and Pipework.

Areas of Responsibility
  • Management of fabrication projects from initial client enquiry, preparation of quotations, order/project winning, processing of production documents, and issuing to the shop floor.
     

  • Liaise closely with our clients throughout projects, maintaining a good working relationships with our customers.
     

  • Create BOM from customers drawings.
     

  • Purchase materials from multiple vendors ensuring best profit margins are achieved.
     

  • Produce Engineering drawings to a high standard for manufacture by our skilled workforce. 
     

  • Produce engineering drawings to sub-contractors requirements for Lasercut / Folded and machined components.
     

  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget maintaining our high-quality standards.

Skills and Experience 
  • Knowledge of Fabrication/Welding and Sheet metal procedures is essential.
     

  • Experience in costing and quoting fabrication jobs in stainless steel is an advantage.
     

  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD.
     

  • Fluent with Microsoft Office programs
     

  • Solid Works experience would be an advantage. 
     

  • Experience of EN1090-1 is an advantage.
     

  • Good organisational skills and able to work under pressure and prioritise and manage your own workload.
     

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
